The FootGolf World Cup: Editions, Hosts and Champions

The FootGolf World Cup is the sport's flagship event, run by the Federation for International FootGolf (FIFG). It is not an annual tournament: according to FIFG's champions list, it has been held in 2012, 2016, 2018, 2023 and 2026. The most recent edition was played in Acapulco, Mexico, in mid-2026.
Every edition and its individual champions
- 2012, Budapest, Hungary: the first World Cup. Men's individual champion: Bela Lengyel (Hungary)
- 2016, Argentina: men's individual champion Christian Otero (Argentina)
- 2018, Marrakech, Morocco: men's champion Matias Perrone (Argentina); women's champion Sophie Brown (England); senior champion Stefano Grigolo (Italy)
- 2023, Orlando, USA: men's champion Bence Bacskai (Hungary); women's champion Lucia Cermakova (Slovakia); senior champion Jan Aksel Odden (Norway)
- 2026, Acapulco, Mexico: men's champion Florian Warsemann (France); women's champion Lucia Cermakova (Slovakia); senior champion Christian Fernandez (Argentina); senior plus champion Sergio Toth (Argentina)
Sophie Brown's 2018 win is recorded by Guinness World Records as the first women's World Cup title. Team titles are decided separately from the individual ones.

These come from FIFG's champions list and the Orlando 2023 recap. We could not verify a team winner for 2012 or a senior plus team winner for 2026.
How the 2026 event worked
The 2026 World Cup ran an individual championship from May 27 to June 1 and a team championship from June 2 to 7, on two courses, Turtle Dunes Country Club and Tres Vidas Golf Club. Categories were men, senior men and senior plus for individuals, plus a women's competition. FIFG's report on the individual results says the men's title went to a playoff, and that England's Ben Clarke shot a 60 in the final round.
FIFG's own pages give different headcounts for the field, so we won't quote one; it drew hundreds of players from more than 50 nations.
Is there a next one?
FIFG's champions list shows no World Cup between 2018 and 2023, and as of late September 2026 we could not find an announced host or date for the next edition. FIFG's site is the place to watch for it. It is currently promoting a Youth World Cup in Germany in 2026.
